Photography Club

The photography club manages the Kirkland darkroom, organizes talks on photography technique, and meets to discuss member's work.

Photography club members are interested in all aspects of the art, in both film and digital media. Members have film cameras using both 35mm and medium formats (6x6, 4.5x6), and rangefinder and SLR digital cameras.

The Kirkland darkroom is open to all house residents, but only after training. Students with previous experience in darkroom work just need to show they know how to use a darkroom correctly and safely by developing film and printing a contract print with Sebastian present. Supplies and materials are provided by the house during training sessions and while printing with the tutor. Students can use the darkroom at all other times with their own supplies. Darkroom closes daily at 11:00pm.

The Fall 2008 schedule is still being prepared, but we expect to have at least one talk on choosing the right camera, and one on travel photography.

Please contact resident tutor Sebastian Velez at svelez@oeb.harvard.edu for more information.
